Wayne's World 2

The laughs continue in 'Wayne's World 2', as Wayne and Garth get their own place and decide to put on a rock festival. Oh, and this time round, Garth has pubes.
'Wayne's World 2' plays like an extension of the first film - it's just as funny, features more cameos, send-ups and well-executed comedic set-pieces, and manages not to repeat the first film too much whilst retaining most of it's appeal. Most of what I wrote for my review of 'Wayne's World' pretty much applies here too. Obviously, with the added bonus of the first film's success, it's apparent that they had more money to play around with this time - and they use it well, roping in more acting talent for the fun (Kim Basinger, Christopher Walken, Charlton Heston [!]) and staging a huge woodstock like concert for the finale.
As the villain of the piece, Walken is the epitome of smooth. Perhaps a little too smooth, we never really despise him as much as we do Rob Lowe's character in the last film, but I guess it's forgivable as it's just great to see Walken get amongst it. The supporting characters are probably even better this time round - we have Del Preston; the burnt out roadie-king, Jeff Wong; Cassandra's hilariously dubbed father, and Jim Morrison; you know, the singer of the Doors.
If you're a fan of the first film there's no doubt that you'd love this as well. 'Wayne's World 2' keeps up the pace, chucks in a whole bunch of hilarious new jokes, and continues to put Wayne and Garth into some crazy situations.
TRIVIA: Mike Meyes specially tracked down Ralph Brown for the tailor-made role of Del Preston, having been a fan of the actor from his work in cult British film 'Withnail and I'.
This isn't really a fact of any sort, but I'm just wondering - is the fight between Wayne and Cassandra's father the first use of fu-wires in a Western film? I think it might be. If anyone can think of an earlier example, feel free to leave a comment!
