my review of IRON MAN (with pix)

May 2nd 2008 01:49

yesterday i saw IRON MAN. as you can tell from the above pic this is about a robot superhero who smashes bad guys and stuff. that's my summary of the movie by the way. i thought i would just start off with my trademark summary this time round to pull all yo readers right in. and it worked.

IRON MAN marks the start of a new kind of film genre that i have dubbed the 'comic book movie'. these are movies that are based on comics and superheros and stuff. there have been one or two others like the recent badass Superman movie that starred Ben out of Lost as Lex Luthor, and the recent Batman Begins movie (it was about time batman got the big screen treatment!!!!11) anyway, IRON MAN is the first REAL comic book movie and i think we'll be seeing a lot more of them in the near future.

robert downey jr plays tony stark, who is the creator of iron man. he builds the robot IRON MAN after seeing the cartoon movie The Iron Giant. It inspires him and after he builds IRON MAN he gives it advice on how to smash bad guys. robert downey jr is probably best known for loving cocaine, he recently got out of jail after doing a 15 year stint. prior to going to jail he was in the movie Stand By Me as the fat kid. not many people remember him from those days but he is now making a comeback and will also soon be appearing in the sitcom Two and Half Man - he is going to take charlie sheen's role as sheen will soon be going to jail himself.

IRON MAN is a rollercoaster ride of fun and action and i would recommend it to anyone who likes action movies so dont be put off by the fact that it is an adaptation of a literary work (or in this case, a 'comic strip').

TRIVIA: Watch out for an Edward Norton cameo in the last five or ten minutes.

RDJ was not in "Stand By Me." The "fat" kid, Vern, was played by Jerry O'Connell, who is 9 years Downey's junior. Downey is best known for movies such as "Chaplin" and 80s fave "Less Than Zero."

Also, he didn't go to jail for 15 years.

Do your homework...imdb.com.

i hardly read these but what i really love about you film bffs is that you dont have the slightest idea what it takes to make fim , letalone judge , critique and have the balls to try to be whitty. Does the film move you or not?, thats the only thing that really matters. Obviously a teenager who just reached the confused phase of puberty would be moved by something like bloodsport. - yet at the same time coud comment on godfather and king of comedy which obviously was plagerised from a pro. So check this wigga-enjoy fifty cent movies while hangin out with your wigga friends and bullshitting about ass you tapped. Leave the films to the film makers.
peace out chinky
